Desc: Read this useful article, and you will know how to identify what part number your need.
Safe and secure information only.
A part number is a specific identifier which helps to make referencing to the certain part easier.
Part numbers can be used in almost all industries. Just compare: if your goal is specifying a screw you are not
supposed to describe it as a “screw, machine, 3-30, 2/3’long, Samsung”. You are sure to prefer “HSC3248PP” instead
of the previous description. Fortunately, all components of notebooks have their own part number. It simplifies
the process of finding any product by a customer greatly.
As a rule one product is supplied with several part numbers. It is explained by the fact that a certain product’s
part is often produced not by one but several manufacturers. A different part number is expected to be used
rather than all parts of manufacturers. It is more comfortable. Let us compare: “screw, machine, 3-30, 2/3’long,
Samsung”:
Manufacturer A uses part number “3-30-2/3’ long”,
Manufacturer B uses part number “200-346-0.644-2818-B”,
Manufacturer C uses part number “NSL-3863”.
All these manufacturers are indistinguishable, so the business using such a part may purchase screws from any
manufacturers. The user does not intend to use any part numbers of any manufacturer for identification of such
screws. Such using would suggest that only one producer is good and all the others are bad and it is going to
make use of an unchanging format for the part number of all of the parts which are used.
It follows that the user conceives its own system of part numbers. In its system the part number "HSC0424PP"
for the screw may be used.
It applies to components of notebooks as well. It is obvious that battery for Asus notebook may be produced by
Duracel, Noshiba, DELL etc. Each of these manufacturers will specify their part numbers for the production. As
a result original Duracel battery with part number 617-0463 can be substituted by Toshiba battery with part
number 8S8764. This is the reason why one product has various part numbers (617-0463, 8S8764).
It is not very comfortable to find all part numbers of all parts of notebooks. There is no universal way
to do that. For location part number it is recommended to read the manual. In case there is no part number
indicated in the manual you are to explore the part you are going to substitute. As a rule all product parts
have a seal of their manufacturer with warranty information, part numbers etc. Tags for locating the information
are MODEL, P/N. If you cannot succeed in finding P/N, address the website of your notebook manufacturer.
